Things to keep in mind before rafting

  1. Ideal weather

Rafting is available throughout the year but people prefer the Monsoon season (June-September). If you are not so comfortable with heavy rainfall then you may prefer the winters (October to March). However, for people looking to bask in the summer heat combined with colder splashes may deem summers (March to June) as their ideal time frame.

  1. Roughness Level

Grade I: This level ensures a relatively easy cruise over the Kundalika River where tourists will be greeted by minor waves and frothy water.

Grade II: The journey will become rough from here. Get ready with all safety gears and try to apply all your rowing talents. Water splashing on bodies begins at this stage.

Grade III: The roughness doubles at this stage. This level is the real thrill. Raging water gushes will attack the rafters. Sudden high waves and speedy current will be tough to control.

  1. Timing

The whole rafting journey may last for 3-4 hours according to one’s preference. The reporting time starts from 8:30AM. A safety guide will be given to each rafter about the do’s and don’ts of rafting. At 9:00AM, rafting gears will be provided to jump in the wild waters.  The journey ends at around 2:00PM.

  1. Rafting Techniques

Rafting for the first time, needs some basic knowledge about the techniques like ‘pillow-ride’, ‘surfing’, ‘drop-surfing’, ‘nose dunks’, ‘back pivot’ etc. Even if these may not be performed accurately, at least having a basic idea about rafting will definitely help. But not to worry, a basic guideline is given to all rafters at the Kolad‘s reporting post.

So here is a chance for all to fulfil the dream of going to a highly adventurous trip and experiencing a thrilling moment. Get ultimate joy at a reasonable price. So what is the delay for? Plan a trip in this vacation, pack your bags and don’t forget to take your swimwear along.
